Fun and learning with Wixie.com: Part I

At 'Kelem International School (KIS), we designate two weeks per term for project-based learning (PBL).

This term, the first grade PBL theme was Natural Resources. Students read and watched videos to learn why natural resources are important and why we need to conserve them. They also picked one natural resource to learn more about.

They used the website www.wixie.com to express some of their learning. Wixie proved to be a fun and engaging media for young ones to communicate their thoughts.

Here are some screenshots of what my awesome first-graders produced (in alphabetical order of student names).

Well done, first grade 'Kelemawians!

This PBL has been a great opportunity for students to follow their interests and learn more about a topic of their choice. They also had the freedom as to how they will express their learning using various forms of communication, namely, written words, images, and voice recordings. The project has also helped students build their digital literacy skills which are essential 21st century skills.

Love life, love learning!
